After moving to Door County, Linda started working in the birthing center at Door County Medical Center and retired in October 2014, after 34 years of service.  During her many years working at the hospital, she was very honored to help bring so many babies into the community.  The nurses that worked with Linda, were truly a second family to her.  Linda was a member at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering for the Altar Guild, Chapel Buddies, and Vacation Bible School.  She was a member of the Homemakers.  Linda loved spending time with her family, gardening, taking walks in the woods with her dog Cally, and traveling with her best friend, Diane Peters.

Survivors include 3 children, Suzanne (John) Fritschler, Kathleen Virgin, and James (Marit) Virgin, all of Sturgeon Bay; 7 grandchildren, Anna, Jacob, Wolfgang, Greta, Sven, Matthew, and Kendall; 1 cousin, Kenneth (Patricia) Klomhaus, Evergreen Park, IL; and her dog, Cally.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 son, Michael; and 1 granddaughter, Abby.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2021, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Sauer officiating.  Burial will be in Hainesville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Friday.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date in 2022.

Thank you to the staffs at Door County Medical Center, and Door County Emergency Services for their wonderful care and support.
