Obituary: Marcella Loraine (Gauger) Desotelle

September 13, 1930 ~ June 24, 2022

Marcella Loraine Desotelle, 91, of Egg Harbor, died on Friday, June 24, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 13, 1930 on the family farm in Fish Creek, daughter of the late Frank William and Agnes Wilhelmina (Johnson) Gauger. She graduated from Gibraltar High School with the Class of 1948. On September 23, 1950, Marcella and Gay Donald Desotelle were united in marriage at Zion United Methodist Church. The two were wed for 56 years before he preceded her in death on September 19, 2007. While living in the greater Milwaukee area, she worked as a laborer for Format Paper Company in Milwaukee and then as a machine operator for Sprague Electric in Grafton. In 1978, Marcella and Gay moved to Egg Harbor. Marcella enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She will be missed by her children, Gary (Angie), Deborah (Richard) Borgmann, Terry (Diane), Mike, Larry (Paula), and Randy Desotelle; grandchildren, Beth (Rick) Kroll, Christopher (Erin) Borgmann, Lorionna Borgmann, Louise (Lance) Alfredson, Michael Borgmann, Hayley (Adam) Ingrum, and Breann (Levon) LaCrosse, Marcy Desotelle, Joey Desotelle, and Ben Desotelle; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Roy (Judy) Gauger and Violet Skippon; and dear cousin, Juanita Fruedenstien.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes Gauger; husband, Gay Desotelle; and brother, Eugene (Marilyn) Gauger.

Marcella’s life will be honored with a memorial service on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Fish Creek. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the church cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
