Obituary: Marion Wery

March 30, 1932 – March 20, 2024

Marion Lois Wery, 91, of Sturgeon Bay, died on March 20, 2024, at Door County Medical Center. She was born March 30, 1932, in Kewaunee County to Peter and Frances (Blahnik) Lauscher.

On June 30, 1954, she married Kenneth Wery at Holy Trinity Church in Casco. She and her husband farmed in the Forestville area for many years. Together they raised 7 children. Her husband passed away Nov. 29, 1987. Marion was a long time and very active member of Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood.

She is survived by 6 children, Debra (James) Nell, Diane Wery, Julie Cole, Nancy Anderson, Dennis Wery and David Wery; 7 grandchildren, Karen (Dan) Lipinski, Kevin (Alisha) Nell, Patricia Eicher, Jennifer Eicher, Chad (Caryn) Eicher, Anna Palazzo, Amy Palazzo and Meagan (Michael) Brull; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Rosemary Wegner; brother-in-law Francis Jadin; 2 sisters-in-law, Edith Lauscher and Rajah Notz; many nieces and nephews.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Wery, 2 sisters, Josephine Lauscher and Sue Jadin; 2 brothers, Peter and Paul Lauscher; 2 sons-in-law Mark Cole and James Anderson.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with the Rev. Anthony Birdsall at 11 am on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm with a prayer service scheduled for 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue at the Forbes Funeral Home on Monday morning from 9 to 10 am and then the family will process to church for mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Door CANcer Inc. in Marion’s name.
