Obituary: Mary M. Teichtler

Mary M. Teichtler, 66, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Tuesday morning, August 23, 2016.

She was born April 1, 1950 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of John and Margaret (Jordan) DeVault. Mary graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1968. She went to work for Emerson Electric until their closing. Mary received her CNA and began nursing at Pine Crest Village for 12 years until her retirement a few years ago.

On June 2, 1994, she was united in marriage to John H. Teichtler at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay.

Mary enjoyed nature and animals, especially her cats. She was supportive of animal causes as she and John were members of the Door County Humane Society. She liked going to garage sales and the comradery it brings.

Mary is survived by her husband, John of Sturgeon Bay; daughter, Tiffany (Nathan) Nobbe of Greenville, WI; she loved being a grandma and spending time with her two grandchildren, Jillian and Brooklyn; and three brothers, John Jr. (Mary) DeVault of Bothell, WA, Bob (Nieves) DeVault of Miami, FL, and Kevin (Carol) DeVault of Sturgeon Bay.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Bob Stegmann officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the church, Friday morning, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Memorials may be given in Mary’s memory for the Door County Humane Society.
