Obituary: Reuben H. Miller

Reuben Harold Miller, 91, of Sturgeon Bay, died on February 26, 2017, at Anna’s Health Care.  He was born on August 23, 1925, in Milwaukee to George and Marie (Vertz) Miller.  On October 29, 1949, he married Lucille S. Wilke at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, she preceded him in death on September 7, 2015.  Reuben’s passion was his love of tractors, especially Ford 9N’s.  He was one of the founding members of the Northeast Wisconsin Antique Power Association (Thresheree) and also a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  Reuben loved to square dance and carve wood with his wife.

Survivors include one son, Dale (Linda) Miller; two grandchildren, Dan Miller and Robyn Miller, all of Sturgeon Bay; one sister, Jackie (Jim) Evenson, New Lisbon, WI; five sisters-in-law, Donna (Roland) DeLair, Sturgeon Bay; Linda Long, Sturgeon Bay; Yvonne Irwin, Algoma; Beverly Wilke, Sheboygan; Jane Wilke, Sheboygan; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Clark, Sheboygan; John Waters, Sturgeon Bay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; parents; one daughter, Vivian Miller; four brothers, Walter, Louie (Dorothy), Donald, Roland (Olive); one sister, Rosemary; four brothers-in-law, Buddy, Donald, Allen, and Herman Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Esther Christianson, Jeanette (William) LaBaugh, and Edith Clark.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl Schroeder officiating.  Burial will be in Shiloh Moravian Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Forbes Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Friday.  A prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
