Obituary: Betty Miller

Betty Miller, 84, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on June 17, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.  She was born Nov. 5, 1931 in Green Bay to Gerhardt and Esther (Laabs) Koehler.  On April 25, 1953, she married Ralph E. Miller in Kohlberg.

Betty enjoyed a long career in food service at Sevastopol School for over 30 years.  She was also a very active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.  Betty’s passion at church was children’s ministries and singing in the church choir.

Her focus in life was always heavenward and on her Savior.  This was physically demonstrated when she frequently raised her arm upward the last few days she was in the hospital.  The Lord received her hand and welcomed her into eternal joy on Friday afternoon.

Survivors include her husband, son Craig Miller, 2 grandsons, Travis and Dustin Miller, all of Oklahoma; sister Carol (Clifford) Karnitz, Algoma; brother-in-law Gilbert Miller, sister-in-law Muriel Miller; niece Vickie (Steve) Karnitz and nephew Danny Karnitz and Janna.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joel Sauer officiating. Memorials may be directed to the VBS or Little Lambs Book Club at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.   Honorary pallbearers will be the Milwaukee Brewers, so they can “let Betty down” one last time.
