OBITUARY: Robert Stephen Ruck

Robert Stephen Ruck, 72, of Sturgeon Bay, died Aug. 13, 2018.  He was born Aug. 21, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Charles and Josephine (Gallot) Ruck.  On July 11, 1990, he married Cheryl Schartner in Door County.

Robert was a world class Classical and Flamenco guitar maker, building guitars for 50 years. He began at age 18 and excelled in his career through passion and persistence. He loved traveling, exploring, and learning. Rob loved spending time outdoors, hiking, fishing, and camping. He also loved yoga, and even won the Oregon State Yoga Competition. Everything he did he did to the best of his ability. He adored his wife, Cheri, and daughter, Amber. You could often find them traveling to Spain together, gardening, or swimming in the ocean.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl; one daughter Amber (Matt Stern) Ruck, Santa Monica, CA; three brothers, Jim (Sharlene) Ruck, Sarasota, FL; Tom Ruck, Vero Beach, FL; Phillip (Beverly) Ruck, Fort Meyers, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Vicki (Dan) Londo and Sue (Elton) Londo, both of Sturgeon Bay; two brothers-in-law, Dan (Tammy) Schartner, Gardner; Mike (Jenel) Schartner, Sturgeon Bay; one dog Pixie; and two cats, Snickers and Ray Ray.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
