Opening Reception for Rolf Olson’s Photography at Hope Church

The Hope Church Art Alcoves Gallery will host an opening for the works of Rolf Olson, Sturgeon Bay photographer, on Nov. 7, 4 – 5:30 pm.

Olson was born in Denver and grew up in Appleton. He graduated from Colorado College before moving to Neshkoro, Wis. where he apprenticed making classic wooden boats. After his apprenticeship, he spent 25 years as a craftsman in wood and metal. Rolf’s art reflects clean, simple lines. His photographs often focus on details hidden in plain sight, striking eccentricities, and bits of uncommon beauty sometimes lost in larger landscapes.

The Hope Church Art Alcoves Gallery is located within the church’s fellowship hall at 141 S. 12th Ave., Sturgeon Bay and is open for viewing when the building is open. Hope Church is open every day except Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, and also other times during use by the church and community.
