Organist Performs at Shepherd of the Bay

On July 23, 7 pm, organist Sheri Masiakowski will perform works by Sr. Theophane Hytrek, Felix Mendelssohn, Camille Saint-Saëns and Louis Vierne on the 23-rank Dobson tracker pipe organ at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church. 

Masiakowski is curator of the Heritage Music Collection for the School Sisters of St. Francis in Milwaukee, teaches in the Master of Liturgical Music program at Alverno College and recently completed her doctor of musical arts degree at UW-Madison. There, her dissertation project was “The Solo Organ Works of Sr. Theophane Hytrek,” which discovered unpublished manuscripts by this nationally known Alverno College professor. The concert is free, but donations are appreciated to support the concert series at Shepherd of the Bay, 11836 Hwy 42 in Ellison Bay.
