Park Friends Share Eagle Tower Recommendation

The Board of Directors for the Friends of Peninsula State Park issued a resolution recommendation regarding the status of Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park.

The Board of the Friends of Peninsula State Park supports either the renovation or the reconstruction of Eagle Tower in its current location.

The board supports the DNR’s inclusion of and a timely resolution of the tower’s future in the upcoming master plan.

Based on public input and its historical significance, the board’s first preference is to renovate the existing tower. The board further supports making feasible accommodations for disabled visitors.

Based on its economic impact on the community either alternative should be a priority for the Friends and the entire community.

The DNR has stated that decisions regarding the future of Eagle Tower will be included in the upcoming master plan.
