Partnership for Children and Families Begins Donation Challenge

The Door County Partnership for Children and Families (DCPCF) is supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program by participating in an online donation challenge. In an effort to promote early literacy, school readiness and future success, the DCPCF has partnered with the Dollywood Foundation to implement a local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. A Community Thrives is an online donation and grant challenge sponsored by the Gannett Company and Gannett Foundation. The DCPCF has been accepted into this challenge, which began March 18 and will run until April 12 at 11:59 am. By participating, the DCPCF hopes to raise at least $3,000 for the library program, which is the amount needed to qualify for additional local grants and funding. To donate, visit crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/doorcountypartnershipforchildrenandfamilies-wisconsin. Donations must be made through this site to count. All funds raised will be used in Door County to provide local children (birth to age five) with the gift of reading and book ownership: those registered in this free program will receive a new, age-appropriate book in the mail each month. There are already 320 children enrolled in the program, which was launched in December 2018.
