Party for a Purpose at the Bone Marrow Jam on Oct. 17

The Go Bo Foundation will present Party for a Purpose Bone Marrow Jam on Oct. 17, 9 am – 5 pm, next door to Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant in Sister Bay as part of the 70th annual Fall Festival. For the first time the Go Bo! Foundation is adding a donor registry drive to their already popular cookie sale. Go Bo! is partnering with Be The Match to offer free registration for individuals 18-35 to the bone marrow registry.

In addition to the cookie sale benefitting Go Bo! and the donor registry drive, the tent will include entertainment from the Modern Day Drifters from 12 to 4 pm and refreshments available for purchase from the VFW.

“Every four minutes someone like Bo is told they have a blood cancer or disease and the cure is someone else’s bone marrow or stem cells. Imagine a cure for cancer! It could be you!” said Annika Johnson, who started the Go Bo! Foundation after losing her son to a long fight with leukemia in 2012.

The Go Bo! Foundation brings hope to children with life-threatening medical conditions by funding research, supporting treatment, and helping their families during times of financial need.

“Paying it forward was Bo’s dream,” shares Annika. “I can’t imagine a better way than to share the gift of bone marrow to save another person’s life.” If you don’t qualify for the registry we encourage participation through donations.
