Patricia Skalka at Pumpkin Patch Signing

Author Patricia Skalka will sign copies of her mystery novels at Cinnamon Windmill in the Main Street Shops, Egg Harbor, on Oct. 10, 11 am – 2 pm. Skalka introduced her series character Dave Cubiak, a former Chicago homicide detective in her first book, Death Stalks Door County. In the latest book, Death At Gills Rock, Cubiak, now county sheriff, is challenged to solve the deaths of three World War II veterans in a mysterious accident at the tip of the peninsula.

Skalka’s skill has won praise from esteemed writers. Hallie Ephron, New York Times bestselling author, called Death at Gills Rock “a tightly plotted police procedural…set on the gorgeous lakefront of a frigid Wisconsin peninsula.” And Publishers Weekly notes, “Skalka writes with unusually rich detail…and unflinching empathy for her characters.”
