Peninsula Park Repairs Deer Enclosures

Peninsula Friends members Dan Engelke, Nick Anderson (center) and Bill Schaars secure a new pole at the Middle Road deer enclosure. Whitetails Unlimited awarded a grant to Friends of Peninsula State Park (FPSP) in November. The grant will help fund repairs to the park’s three deer enclosure cages, first constructed in 1992. The enclosure cages provide study sites for university students, including one who conducted an herbivore inventory inside the cages in 2011.
