Peninsula Players Theatre’s popular series of free public seminars will continue August 27 with golf stories and jokes as well as behind the scenes discussion of running a golf course and golf tournaments. Peninsula State Golf Course General Manager Jason Daubner will be joined by Players actor and avid golfer Tim Monsion in “Bogeys, Backswings and Birdies, Oh My!” from 2:30 – 4 pm in the theatre.

Daubner and Monsion will share amusing stories, golf trivia and facts, especially as they relate to the Players’ current production of Ken Ludwig’s madcap comedy The Fox on the Fairway, in which Monsion stars as the rascally owner of Crouching Squirrel Country Club. In the play, Monsion’s club squares off against Quail Valley in their annual tournament, leading to misunderstandings and mayhem. The play is a charming, delightful screwball adventure about love, life, and man’s eternal love affair with…golf.

All seminars are free to the public and require advance reservations, as space is limited to 50 people for each event. This seminar will be held in the theater and fall seminars during the production of Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage will be held in the rehearsal hall. For more information or to make reservations call 920.868.3287.

Also, Peninsula Players is looking for 8”x10” photos from its patrons for use during the production of Fox on the Fairway.

“Pictures line the walls of the club’s outstanding members and the Players would like to add pictures from the audience each night,” said Audra Baakari Boyle, the Players’ business manager. “Patrons are welcome to bring the photos to the will call window from one hour to a half-hour prior to curtain. After the show, photos will be returned to the patrons at the concession stand.”

The Peninsula Players perform Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 7:30 pm with the closing 4 pm matinee performance September 4. Discount tickets are available for groups of 15 or more. Individual ticket prices range from $32 to $38.
