Piano Fundraiser at Ephraim Moravian Church

David Beck

Ephraim Moravian Church will host a duo-piano fundraiser with David Beck and Robert Volpe on Sept. 30 at 7 pm. The concert benefits Scandia Village’s capital campaign.

Beck and Volpe will perform selections from Mendelssohn, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Nobuo Uematsu.

Beck began playing piano at 4 years old, and throughout his high school career remained self-taught as a pianist. In 2003 he unlearned all of his bad habits when he was accepted to St. Norbert College with a music scholarship to attend as a Piano Performance major.

During Beck’s four years at St. Norbert he performed within every music circle he could, including Jazz Band, Collaborative Piano, Solo Recitals, Master Classes and with the St. Norbert Wind Ensemble.

No longer attempting to make a living via music, Beck still performs regularly, and enjoys having the talented Robert Volpe as his student. Beck looks forward to pursuing a Master Degree in Piano Performance sometime in the near future.

Ephraim Moravian Church is located at 9970 Moravia Street. For more information call 920.854.2804.
