Pink Panters Run Assists Emergency Response Fund

A small network of friends supported the Door County Emergency Response Fund and Lisa Hendrix of Door County during the May 2 Pink Panters Run. It was named for the husbands of some of her friends who posed in pink shorts – the Brotherhood of the Traveling Shorts.

Hendrix had originally planned to run the Door County Half Marathon on the same date, but instead, she ran 14 miles along Bayshore Drive.

The Half Marathon has been postponed until Oct. 31 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Running a race is a special communal experience,” Hendrix said. “The Door County Half is even more so because it’s on the peninsula, so I was trying to think of a way to capture some of that feeling and do something that would help our community during this time of need.”

More than $1,400 in donations was raised through the run for the Door County Emergency Response Fund.
