Sevastopol’s girls basketball team is now on a six-game winning streak after recording a pair of victories over the weekend.
The Pioneers won their Packerland Conference game at home Friday against NEW Lutheran 53-32.
Kayla Ranly led Sevastopol with 15 points. Libby Ash added 11 points. Both players made three three-pointers.
On Saturday afternoon, the Pioneers played a non-conference game in Oshkosh, where they defeated Wabeno/Laona, 50-39.
Ranly led Sevastopol with 22 points. Naomi Rikkola added 14 points.
The Pioneers, who are now in the three-way tie with Kewaunee and Oconto for first place in the Packerland at 12-2 in the conference and are 18-3 overall, host a league game Monday night against Oconto, the last team to defeat Sevastopol, before closing out the regular season at home Thursday with another conference game against Peshtigo.
Sevastopol has received a No. 2 seed in the WIAA Division 5 tournament and opens the postseason Feb. 20 by hosting a regional quarterfinal against No. 15-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas.
