Public Invited to Discuss Art League’s Plans for 2010

Monday, October 26, Door County Art League members will get together to socialize at a potluck dinner beginning at 6 pm at the Gibraltar Fire Department meeting room. The public is invited; please bring a dish to pass, a plate, and eating utensils. Following the potluck, members and interested parties are asked to share their thoughts and ideas for next year.

Discussion topics will include plans for next seasons’s Gallery of the Door County Art League, the 24th Annual Juried Exhibit, a fall show, various outdoor venues, plein air painting group activities, outreach plans, such as the newly created Russ Coventry Scholarship Fund to benefit older artists, and the 2010 general meeting schedule and programs.

The Door County Art League was organized in 1986 and incorporated in 1993 for the purpose of developing active community involvement in the field of creative arts. Membership is open to artists and all other persons interested in and supportive of the visual arts in Door County. Since the first season, the League has offered a variety of programs to members and guests wishing to enrich their lives through the knowledge, use, and enjoyment of art.

The October 26 bring-a-dish gathering is an important function, and attendees are encouraged to candidly express their views on how the league can better serve the arts and the arts community. The Gibraltar Fire Department is located at 3496 County Road F in Fish Creek. For more information on the league, visit http://www.doorcountyartleague.org or call 920.559.7530.
