Pumpkin Patch, Cider Pressing & More Weekend Plans

This weekend is all about autumn on the Door Peninsula! Egg Harbor hosts Pumpkin Patch Festival, though celebrations of all kinds dot the peninsula on this wonderful October weekend.

Friday, October 6

Twilight Tours, Tunes & Tales

Experience Eagle Bluff Lighthouse by the glow of lanterns at twilight during this annual celebration of tales, lore, legends and music, courtesy of the Northern Door Storytellers Guild. 6:30-8pm.

Saturday, October 7

A Moravian Breakfast

Join the folks of Ephraim Moravian Church for a continental breakfast of Moravian Sugar Cake, bakery, apple and cranberry juice, fresh fruit, and coffee. The event is free but donations will be accepted for Hurricane Irma relief for Moravian churches in St. Thomas and St. John. 8-10:30am.

Pumpkin Patch Festival

Pumpkin Patch weekend, as locals call it, is one of the busiest of the year, as fall colors are usually in full display throughout the peninsula. Enjoy live music, carnival rides, arts and crafts vendors, face painting, pumpkin and scarecrow displays, great food and fun for the whole family!

Fall Fun Fest & Cider Pressing Party

If you’re heading to the Island, be sure to stop by the farm museum for its annual Fall Fun Fest & Cider Pressing Party. Turn a bucket of apples into a gallon of cider, hop on a wagon ride, or dip your own caramel apples on the spot! 10am-4pm.

Iron Pour Benefit

Peninsula School of Art hosts its most awe-inspiring events of the year with its 8th annual Iron Pour on Saturday evening. Donate $20 in exchange for the chance to create a custom 5” x 5” iron tile and then gather at the school at dusk to watch the dramatic pour of molten iron. You’ll be able to walk away at the end of the evening with your piece. 4-8pm.

A Little Bit of Americana

Karen Savoca and Pete Heitzman are sinuous as two skaters gliding on ice as they play across soul, R&B, roots and world rhythms, conjuring a communion between audience and stage. 6:30pm.

Sunday, October 8

“The Tale of the Peshtigo Fire”

Barb Englebert Chisholm re-enacts the story of the Peshtigo fire through the eyes of her great grandmother, Emmerence Gaspard Englebert, on the 146th anniversary of the disaster. 10am and 1pm.

Chili Cook-off

Head to Stone Harbor Restaurant for their annual October chili cook-off. Enjoy chili during the Packer game and hang around for judging at 3pm.
