Q & A with Master Taxidermist Mike Orthober

Master taxidermist Mike Orthober will be at the Door County Historical Museum on July 23 from 10 am – 4 pm. Mike designed and built the museum’s nature diorama and he will be mounting another bird for inclusion in the diorama and answering questions about the art and science of taxidermy.

Orthober, of Egg Harbor, is well known in the taxidermy field, having won many national and world-wide awards, among them “Best in World” for warm-water fish and “Second in World” for a non-game bird.

Stop by the museum on July 23, or come in any time to see Mike’s beautiful exhibit.  If you are unable to attend this Saturday, he will be doing another demonstrations on Aug. 27. The museum is located at 4th and Michigan and is open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm. If you have questions, please call 920.743.5809 or e-mail [email protected].
