Kids with an interest in performing will have a chance to experience theater in a whole new way at Kaleidoscope, Door Community Auditorium’s annual performing arts day camp. Kaleidoscope has been expanded to two weeks and will take place from June 11 – 20.

This performance experience is designed to provide up to 30 kids, ages 9-13, with new outlets for their creativity through lessons in movement exploration, vocal techniques, imaginative drama and art and set design. Experienced educators Marise Redmann, Emily Salm, and Lizbeth Thomas will collaborate to create a vibrant experience for Kaleidoscope participants.

Daily activities include movement exercises, vocal exercises, theater games, imagination exercises, and set design.

In Kaleidoscope’s cooperative, nurturing environment, students will develop not only essential performance skills, but also skills in communication, problem-solving, and social awareness. On June 20 at 7 pm, students will present “Whispers from the Wood,” which will incorporate the techniques they’ve learned during the day camp into a performance at the auditorium for friends and family.

The cost is $358 per student and includes nine days of classes from 8:30 am – 3 pm, as well as a healthy daily snack. Early registration is encouraged; to register call 920.868.2728 or visit dcauditorium.org.
