Rev. Nancy Bontempo Is Guest Speaker at Next Door County People of Faith Potluck

The Rev. Nancy Bontempo, pastor of Friends Community Church, will be the special guest speaker at Door County People of Faith’s Sept. 15 potluck and discussion between 6 and 8:30 pm at 6835 Edgewood Court in Sturgeon Bay. Rev. Bontempo will share some of her life experiences of “being a woman in a traditional man’s world” (i.e., the clergy), as well as the story of “our wonderful church” in Sturgeon Bay.

A progressive community of faith that’s “spiritual rather than religious, organic over organizational, and personal beyond institutional,” Door County People of Faith has no creeds, confessions, or collections. No pulpits, pews or processionals. No altar calls, prosperity preaching, damnation-orientation, celestial choirs or big screen TVs.
