Ridges Removes Trees, Plants More

Volunteers and staff members planted 400 trees – native red pine, white pine and white spruce, April 19, on The Ridges Sanctuary’s 140-acre Appel’s Bluff property. Dozens of nonnative Scots pine were removed.

The Ridges acquired the former Joseph Parent property in 2015, and Research Director Tony Kiszonas said the goal is to create more diversity on the land.
