Longtime Sevastopol coach Ron Frank has submitted his resignation as the Pioneers’ head football coach following the 2023 season when the team went 0-8 overall and finished at the bottom of the Peninsula Conference standings.
His departure will conclude his third stint as a head football coach for Sevastopol.
Frank first departed the program in 1998 when it was an 11-player cooperative team with Gibraltar, before he returned in 2005 when Sevastopol discontinued its co-op with Gibraltar.
Despite leading the Pioneers to six wins and a playoff appearance in 2010, Frank’s record was 19-62 when he resigned in 2012. Justin Skiba replaced Frank in 2013, the same year that Sevastopol transitioned to eight-player football. Frank returned as head coach in 2016, and the Pioneers claimed the state’s first eight-player title in 2018.
