SBSI are Halfway to Fundraising Goal

The Sturgeon Bay Skatepark Initiative visited the Stevens Point Skatepark soon after forming the Sturgeon Bay group.

The Sturgeon Bay Skatepark Initiative (SBSI) recently announced they are halfway toward raising the funds needed to build a public skatepark in Sturgeon Bay.

Laurel Hauser, co-chair for the initiative credits this achievement to the kids. “It’s been a primary goal of ours to have the kids involved in every aspect of the effort and they’ve really taken ownership of it. We want them to understand that it takes a community to make something of this scale happen and they have many people to be grateful to.”

The 2nd Annual Skateboard Art Auction to benefit SBSI takes place April 5 – 28 at Glas, the Green Coffeehouse in Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door Middle School and Czarnuska Soup Bar in Ephraim.

SBSI is a fund of the Door County Community Foundation. Contributions may be sent to DCCF, P.O. Box 802, Sturgeon Bay or
