Sip & Savor in Sister Bay

Tickle and tantalize your taste buds at Sip & Savor, Sister Bay’s newest event on the waterfront, June 8! Try your hands at kayaking or stand up paddleboarding at Paddlefest from 11 am – 4 pm, sponsored by Bay Shore Outfitters.

From 12 – 4 pm, swirl and sample wine and hard cider from six Door County wineries: Harbor Ridge, Island Orchard Cider, Orchard Country, Red Oak, Simon Creek, and von Stiehl. Savor cheese from Door County cheesemakers: Door County Creamery, Renards Cheese and Schoolhouse Artisan cheese. And learn more about cheese and wine during demonstrations by the professionals throughout the afternoon.

Taste your way through Sister Bay restaurants’ select menu items during the Taste of Sister Bay. Tickets are $10 for wine and cheese, $10 for food at Taste of Sister Bay, $5 for kids 10 and younger.

Enjoy the sounds of musicians Katie Dahl (12 – 2 pm) and David Hatch & Lynn Gundmunsen (12 – 4 pm) throughout the afternoon.

Whether you’re an old pro, or a newbie, check out the latest kayaks and stand up paddleboards at the Sister Bay Beach. The friendly, experienced staff from Bay Shore Outfitters will show you the tricks for a successful paddle experience from the beach in Sister Bay, and give you a 30-minute SUP lesson for $10.

All children are invited to decorate their bikes, trikes and scooters and ride in the annual Children’s Parade at 11:30 am. Decorate a hat from 10:30 – 11:15 am in the Village Hall. Parade lineup starts behind Bhirdo’s Shell Station on Scandia Road. The parade will travel from Scandia to the Sister Bay Post Office. The Boy Scouts color guard will lead the parade and the Gibraltar Middle School Band will provide marching music. After the parade, entertain the kids with games hosted by the Boy Scouts.

Savor the sunset by the warmth of a campfire and snack on s’mores at Beach Park to round out the day.
