Snowmobile Safety Class Produces 27 Graduates

The recent graduates and instructors from the DNR Snowmobile Safety class that was taught at the Sister Bay Fire Station are pictured. The class taught the students safe and responsible snowmobiling, including discussions on the role that speed, alcohol use and night riding play in the cause of most accidents.

DNR Instructors were Jim Robinson and James Rice, and Karee Orrick was the Assistant Instructor. Guest speakers and assistants included: Chris Hecht, paramedic; Deputy Lauder, Door County Sheriff’s Dept.; Terry and Linda Zielke; Scotty Weborg; Roger Rice; and Ronnie Robinson.

Special thanks to the Sister Bay and Liberty Grove Fire Department for use of their facility and to the many generous landowners who allow snowmobile trails to cross their property, helping many people get out and enjoy the beauty the winter season offers.
