    The Jacksonport Historical Society recently purchased 4.3 acres of land on the south edge of Jacksonport on Hwy 57. The society’s vision is of developing a museum, growing membership, and further developing youth outreach programs as well as continuing to publish family histories, collecting artifacts and educating the community.

  • Door County Art Feature: The Art Supply Store as Meeting Place – Artists Guild LLC

    When I first visited the Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay, I instantly made two observations. The first was that it was hard not to want to be an artist of some sort after seeing the beautifully organized rows of paint tubes, drawing pencils, and paper varieties. The other was that for the first time, I was able to walk into an art supply store without feeling an overwhelming sense of being completely out of my element.

The irony is that there was a moment when I would have left Boston to make my way in New York, but chose instead to remain in New England for the sake of my children.     MOAB, Utah – The guidebook said the trail was of easy to moderate difficulty. The locals called it pretty easy. It's the Klondike Bluffs bike trail, located about 15 miles north of town, and I figured it would be a good place to sample the vaunted "slickrock" of Moab without checking into an emergency room.

    Originally published in issue v12i05 (March 2006) The roar had become deafening. By the end of the fall semester at UW-Green Bay, I was ending my hour and a half commute from Sister Bay with a droning headache.

    The recent graduates and instructors from the DNR Snowmobile Safety class that was taught at the Sister Bay Fire Station are pictured. The class taught the students safe and responsible snowmobiling, including discussions on the role that speed, alcohol use and night riding play in the cause of most accidents.

    The Sister Bay Lions Club recently presented a check in the amount of $3,000 to the Gibraltar Music Boosters Club. The money will go toward preserving the excellence in the music-related activities at the school.
