Softball Eagles Beat Valders, Fall to Spartans

Southern Door’s softball team split two non-conference games from earlier this week.

On Monday, the Eagles took the lead in the opening inning and went on to shut out Valders, 5-0.

Bella Price, Madyson Counard, Hailey Vesser and Reese Vogel each had a hit for Southern Door.

The Eagles’ Ashlyn Delfosse recorded the complete-game pitching victory, scattering three hits and five walks with seven strikeouts in the shutout. 

Southern Door ended up being shut out after losing Tuesday in six innings to Luxemburg-Casco, 10-0.

The Eagles tallied six hits, with two coming from Alanah Kaye, who also recorded the pitching loss working 2 2/3 innings.

Up next for Southern Door is a non-conference road game Saturday against Green Bay Southwest.
