The Southern Door Fab Lab will once again be open to community members. The district is sponsoring a 10-week workshop on Wednesday nights from 6-8 pm from Sept. 12 – Nov. 14 for interested adults. Additional open lab time may be added to meet the needs of the participants.
The first two sessions are training sessions, with the eight remaining sessions open lab time for participants to use laser engravers, 3D printers, vinyl cutter and CNC equipment. Software available for use include CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, Aspire, MasterCam, SolidWorks as well as machine specific software.
Workshop costs include registration and any material costs incurred for projects created. Registration is $75 for Southern Door residents or $125 for non-residents. An application form and registration fee must be turned into the Southern Door High School office with checks payable to the Southern Door School District.
Seating is limited and the class is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Application forms are available on the district website or from the high school office.
