The Stage Door Theatre Company presents Santaland Diaries, the hilarious story of one man’s experience working as one of Santa’s elves at Macy’s Department Store.

Santaland Diaries is a modern classic, written by humorist David Sedaris (frequently featured on NPR’s This American Life), and stars Dan Klarer as the irrepressible Macy’s elf.

Klarer is best known to Door County audiences for his work on the stages of the American Folklore Theatre. This past summer he appeared in Cheeseheads, the Musical, and in the original cast of Victory Farm.

Santaland Diaries will be performed Dec. 20, 21, 27, 28, 29 and 31 at 7:30; Dec. 22, 29 and 30 at 2 pm; Dec. 30 at 4:30 pm; and Dec. 23 and 31 at 4 pm.

Dec. 27 is Lakeshore CAP Food Pantry Benefit Night. If theatregoers bring a personal care item or non-perishable, non-expired food item to that night’s performance, they’ll receive $5 off the ticket price.

Crumpet the Elf’s New Year’s Eve Party follows the 7:30 performance on Dec. 31. The ticket for the performance admits audience members to the after-show party where there will be adult beverages, chocolate-chip cookies, door prizes and an opportunity to chat with the elf.

Santaland Diaries is recommended for mature elves only as the show contains strong language and adult situations.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students (25 years and younger).
