“Startings” at The Meadows

The next show at the Meadows Art Gallery, titled Startings, kicks off their summer season of exhibits. There will be new and returning artists as part of the show: Don Howard, Christy Ohman, Eric Smith and Vivian Hannan.

Howard is primarily a landscape artist with watercolor. His work is crafted and shows diligent effort on his part to master his media of choice.

Ohman is starting to paint again after a brief recess from working. She paints subject matter that is important to her and her work goes in many different directions. Traditional landscape, wildlife, still life, boat scenes, and Door County landmarks are all included in her work.

Smith is a new artist to the gallery. He is a mixed media artist that has already found his own style. His work is representational and he takes on realistic subject matter. Smith’s work will also be included in the fall and Christmas shows at The Meadows.

Hannan, a resident of The Meadows, will show quilted pieces that represent many years of her artistic life. Her design and color use is outstanding. She uses artistic fundamentals flawlessly in her work.

The Meadows Art Gallery is very proud of this show. The artists were all selected because of their very strong artwork. We thank the artists for participating and welcome the mix of their creations to the gallery.

A reception is scheduled for June 10, 2-4 pm. Gallery hours are from 10 am to 5 pm daily. The show will end July 1. The Gallery is located in Scandia Village in Sister Bay.
