Sturgeon Bay Names Valedictorians, Salutatorian

For the first time in known school history, there are three students tied for valedictorian for Sturgeon Bay High School, the principal’s office announced. Mercedes Hanley, Natalia Michalski, and Jade Tomberlin have tied with the highest weighted grade-point average for the graduating class of 2024. 

The salutatorian for the Sturgeon Bay High School class of 2024 is Benton Stephens, who had the second highest weighted grade-point average for the class of 2024.

Hanley, the daughter of Robin Benn of Sturgeon Bay, plans to pursue a degree in Art education; Michalski, daughter of Agnes and Tomasz Michalski of Sturgeon Bay, plans to enter the field of medicine; Tomberlin, daughter of Alyssum and Luke Tomberlin of Sturgeon Bay, plans to pursue a degree in microbiology; and Stephens, son of Brian and Amy Stephens of Sturgeon Bay, plans to attend Washington University in St. Louis to study finance.
