Suicide Prevention Program in Sister Bay

Northern Door Health & Wellness Ministry continues its Community Health Information Programs with a program on suicide prevention on July 14, 4 pm, at Stella Maris in Sister Bay. The Centers for Disease Control recently advised that “self-harm is an increasing public health concern.” Self-harm outpaces death by heart disease, lung cancer, road injury and drug abuse, to name a few. It’s a worldwide concern and now considered the leading cause of death for those 15 to 49 years old.

Speakers Marcia Wilson and Amy Demeter from Prevent Suicide of Door County are trained in the “QPR” Prevention Program (question-persuade-respond), and they’ll answer questions.

The Ministry also offers free blood pressure screenings twice a month at Main Street Market and St. Rosalia’s Church. For more information visit NorthernDoorHealthWellness.com.
