TAP Announces Student Matinee Series

Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) is starting a series of student matinees designed for school groups to bring students to the theater at a very reduced rate. Each performance will be followed by a talk back with the director and cast. Pre-show classroom visits by TAP company members may also be arranged at no additional charge in order to help prepare students for their experience watching the play.

The first student matinee will be for The Amish Project, featuring Katherine Duffy. Conceived in the wake of the 2006 school shootings in the Amish community of Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania, Jessica Dickey’s The Amish Project is a fictional exploration of a real-life tragedy allows us to glimpse into the world of Amish culture and to come to grips with the true limits of compassion and forgiveness.

Duffy will lead a talk back after each performance. In addition, if invited, she will visit each participating school prior to the performance to give helpful background information on the play they will be seeing.
