Amy Mueller is joining Third Avenue PlayWorks (TAP) as its new managing director.
Previously, Mueller wrote grants and stewarded a portfolio of donors and sponsors as American Players Theatre’s development director. She also spent over five years as Door Shakespeare’s executive director, and most recently, served as the grants director for the Door County YMCA.
“With her 10+ years of experience in all aspects of nonprofit theater management, including a strong emphasis on fundraising, she will bring a vast array of skills to the managing director position,” said TAP board president Michael Wright. “And above all, she knows and loves Door County and this community.”
Mueller will join artistic director Jacob Janssen in a joint leadership model, focusing on guiding the strategic direction of the organization and ensuring its continued growth. She will step into her new role on Jan. 1, succeeding interim managing director and board member Amy Biersteker.
“There is so much momentum at TAP right now, and it’s been amazing to be reintroduced to the theater upon moving back to Door County,” said Mueller.
