The People’s Choice

Jason Prigge won the 8th Annual Door County Plein Air Festival Dockside Quick Paint Competition on July 26 in Fish Creek. Hosted by the Peninsula School of Art, more than 500 art lovers gathered to cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award, which was bestowed upon Prigge with much fanfare for “Restful Morning.”

Featuring a sailboat moored in Fish Creek, the winning piece was executed within the two-hour limitation of the Quick Paint Competition. Prigge’s bold choice to go large with the piece equates to the completion of approximately five square inches per minute of oil on canvas.

As the First Place People’s Choice Award recipient, Prigge won a coveted invitation to be a featured artist in the 2015 Door County Plein Air Festival. Prigge is represented by the Bay Art Gallery at Sister Bay Trading Company in Sister Bay.
