The Return of WC Clark

On Sept. 17, WC Clark returns for his fourth visit to Sturgeon Bay to perform at The Holiday Music Motel’s Tambourine Lounge, adjacent to the motel at 59 N 2nd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay. Purgatory Hill will open the show with a short set at 7 pm.

Mention the song “Cold Shot,” and most people’s attention will quickly gravitate to remembrances of the blues legend Stevie Ray Vaughn. What most don’t immediately realize is that WC Clark, who was Vaughn’s long-time mentor and then band mate in Triple Threat Revue (TTR), co-penned the song with TTR keyboardist Mike Kindred. That very song was a huge hit for Vaughn putting him on the top of the charts and earning Clark his first platinum record.

After breaking away from Triple Threat Revue (Vaughn would then rename the group Double Trouble), Clark has continued to tour in one capacity or another. Even after 40 years on the road, Clark shows no signs of slowing down. Current musical cohorts include recent Sturgeon Bay transplant, Sturgeon Bay Music Exchange owner and renowned bassist Tony Menzer, guitarist Jim Ohlschmidt and Sturgeon Bay’s very own Jamey Clark (no relation).

With only 40 seats available for this intimate concert, advance reservations are strongly recommended. Tickets are available by calling the motel at 920.743.5571 or booking online at HolidayMusicMotel.com/tickets. Featured selections from Door County Brewing Company will also be available for sale at the event. For more information visit wcclark.com.
