Time to Show Off Pie-baking Skills

The fifth annual Pie Baking Contest is part of the Old Ellison Bay Day celebration. Come one, come all with your pie-baking skills and win great prizes. If you think you can make the best pie in Door County, then you are invited to join in the baking fun.

All fruit pies will be accepted (no cream pies, please). The fruit pie can be single or double crust pie. Each contestant will be asked to bake two identical pies, one for the judging and one for the pie sale. All pies must be delivered to the Women’s Club Building at the Ellison Bay park on June 28 by 2 pm for judging.

Registration forms and pie tins can be picked up at Pioneer Store in Ellison Bay, Savory Spoon Cooking School in Ellison Bay, Sweetie Pies in Fish Creek, Cookbook in Sister Bay, and Schoolhouse Artisan Cheese Shop in Egg Harbor.

All registration forms need to accompany pies when delivered. Prizes this year include a pie plate from Gills Rock Pottery, a pie baking basket from the Cookbook, and a gift certificate from Bea’s Homemade. For more information call Janice at 920.421.0936.
