Two Benefits for Birch Creek Students

Birch Creek Music Performance Center’s volunteer organization, The Associates, have planned two fundraising events in July to benefit Birch Creek students.

First on the schedule of events is “Musical Menagerie,” which will be held on Sunday, July 13, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm inside the gates of Ken and Lisa Jeansonne’s Cajun Acres on Townline Road in Carlsville. A concert and light supper will be held in this idyllic, private setting. A cash wine bar will be available, and “Musical Menagerie” will feature Birch Creek’s popular percussion faculty members, Liam Teague on steelpan and Robert Chappell on keyboard, performing a wide array of musical styles in an hour-long concert following supper.

For this special evening, the Jeansonne’s have incorporated a musical theme into the landscaping design of their numerous planters and gardens at Cajun Acres. The menagerie part of the theme comes from the Jeansonne’s llamas, emus, peacocks, and “Harley” the camel – exotic animals rarely seen in Door County. Chuck Lakefield of WROE radio will serve as emcee for the evening. The cost is $50 per person, half of which is tax deductible. Advanced reservations and payment are required. Then, on Thursday, July 24 at 11:30 am, Jewel Tones, the ever-popular luncheon and style show and the Associates’ second fundraising event, will be held at the Horseshoe Bay Golf Club in Egg Harbor. Designer Cindy Williquette has designed tablescapes in brilliant colors and sparkles. This event sells out early, so plan ahead. Ticket cost is $45 per person.
