Two Municipalities Join in Resolution Opposing Citizens United

In November, the Town of Brussels and the Village of Forestville each passed a resolution calling on our state representatives as well as the Door County Board of Supervisors to actively support a statewide non-binding referendum next November. The referendum would allow all state voters to respond Yes or No to a single question on the influence of excessive money in our elections:  Should Wisconsin become the 20th state to call on Congress for an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would again allow some limits to be placed on outside campaign spending in our elections by Super-PACs, corporations, unions and other man-made entities. Brussels and the Village of Forestville raised the total number to date that has passed the resolution in Door County to 12 of 19 municipalities. Also in November, two more Southern Door towns – Clay Banks and Nasewaupee – have placed the resolution on their December meeting agendas.
