Two One-Act Plays on Stage at TAP

Next on the stage at Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) is Patio/Porch from May 19 to June 5.

Written by Jack Heifner and directed by James Valcq, the structure of Patio/Porch is two one-act plays – one set on a patio and the other on a porch. Each play has two very different sets of characters both played by the same two actresses, Amy Ensign and Jacque Troy. Meet Pearl, her beautician sister Jewel, a crotchety old woman named Dot, and her restless daughter Lucille in this funny, very human portrait of life in a small Texas town.

Ensign has appeared numerous times at TAP, most recently in last summer’s Steel Magnolias. Troy made her TAP debut last summer in Sylvia. She comes to TAP from Milwaukee where she’s appeared with the Milwaukee Rep, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Renaissance, First Stage and In Tandem. She is also an artist/educator for Milwaukee’s Arts@Large program.

Tickets are $25 general admission and $10 students.

Performances will be held at 7:30 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 pm on Sundays. A pay-what-you-can preview performance will be held May 18 at 7:30 pm. The May 21 performance will benefit the League of Women Voters of Door County.

For tickets, call 920.743.1760, visit ThirdAvenuePlayhouse.com, or stop by the box office at 234 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
