Uncork Summer at Olde Ellison Bay Days

For the past 48 years, Olde Ellison Bay Days has taken place during the last weekend of June; this year it begins June 26 with the original Door County fish boil at the Viking Grill.

On Friday afternoon, there will be the annual pie-baking contest, then an ice cream/pie social open to all at the Community Park Club House.

New for this year’s festival is the introduction of Uncork Summer, the Door Peninsula’s first countywide food and wine tasting venue, held on the grounds of Wickman House. Small-plate, gourmet dishes from restaurants throughout Door County, as well as samplings from local markets, wineries and distilleries will be offered from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, June 28.

All of the attractions at Ellison Bay Community Park will open Saturday morning. At 11 am on Saturday, the Olde Ellison Bay Days Parade will come down the Highway 42 grade through village center and up Garrett Bay Road to Fitzgerald Park.

Community Park will host attractions such as: arts and crafts fair, water golf, slow bike race, live music from Katie Dahl, and food from the VFW and Snowmobile Club.

Other events include street dancing to the refrains of the Modern Day Drifters, Liberty Grove firefighters pancake breakfast, nondenominational service in the Community Park gazebo from the Cowboy Church.

Ellison Bay Service Club, Liberty Grove Historical Society and Door County North are sponsoring Olde Ellison Bay Days. Additional sponsors are welcome, and volunteers are invited to participate in the fun of festival events.
