Upcoming Training Sessions on Dementia Management

Anna Zahorik will provide general training sessions on dementia at the Door County Senior and Community Center located on 14th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay. The first session is May 31, 12:45 – 2:45 pm, and the second session is June 6, 12:45 – 2:45 pm.

This training is from the curriculum at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and was developed specifically for family members and friends of people living with dementia. Any informal caregiver is encouraged to attend. Most people living with dementia reside in the community, so many receive care from family members or friends. Topics will include the Wisconsin Silver Alert Program, advance directives, successful communication in challenging situations, environmental safety for physical and emotional well-being, and caring for caregivers.
