To address stressors in the agriculture industry, UW-Extension in Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Marinette, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano and Waupaca Counties will host a half-day meeting called Supporting Farmers during Challenging Times on March 20, 9 am-12 pm, at Tundra Lodge in Green Bay. The meeting is designed to help agribusiness professionals and agency staff feel more comfortable and confident working with families in distress, and to connect attendees with others to provide even more support for the farming community.
The agenda includes “Ag Lending in Trying Times,” presented by Michelle Backhaus and Dan Kaufman; “Taking Care of You,” by Renee Koenig; and “Managing Winter Kill: Making Decisions for the 2019 Cropping Season,” by Mark Kirk.
The meeting is open to anyone who wants to learn more about how to support farm families. Reply by March 15. For more details, visit fyi.extension.wisc.edu.
