Violin and Piano Program

On Saturday, October 9 at 7 pm, violinist Alicia Doudna and pianist Hannah Shields will combine their talents in a concert at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay. The program will feature a variety of musical styles, from Vivaldi’s beloved Baroque style to the Romantic melodies of Ravel and Brahms to the American rhythms of George Gershwin. The public is invited to attend.

As a chamber musician, Doudna has appeared with notable musicians in various chamber music festivals across the country as well as France. As a member of the Phoenix Quartet, she performed and taught as an artist-in-residence at the University of Michigan.

Currently, Doudna has a private studio in Ann Arbor with more than 20 students ranging in age from four to 18.

Shields is an accomplished piano collaborator, soloist, and chamber musician. She has appeared as a soloist in the Bach concerto for four keyboards at Carnegie Hall under the baton of Itzhak Perlman, and has performed in major venues throughout the country. She is a founding member of the “Musique à la Mode” chamber music series in New York City.

The concert is free, though a free will offering will be received. Participants will have a chance to meet the musicians during a reception to follow the concert.
