Visitor Restrictions in Place at HSHS Hospitals

Visitor restrictions are now in place at all HSHS – Eastern Wisconsin Division hospitals as a response to the increase in flu cases. This includes HSHS facilities St. Vincent Hospital, St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay; St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan; and St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.

Restrictions at these locations include no visitors younger than 12 in inpatient areas; no visitors of any age with flu-like symptoms, including fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, fever, vomiting or diarrhea; try to limit the number of healthy visitors to one or two per patient.

These restrictions and guidelines are not in place for pediatric patients who are at a hospital for an outpatient appointment.

Although these restrictions are not much different from existing infection-prevention restrictions for visitors, the high numbers of influenza cases – including those requiring hospitalization – have prompted these temporary restrictions. Notice will be sent out once they’ve been lifted.
