Volunteers Invited to Ring Bells for Salvation Army through Dec. 23

The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons in Door County would not be complete without the ringing of The Salvation Army bells. Members, friends and spouses of Altrusa International of Door County volunteer to ring the bell on several days each fall, helping to raise critical funds for the emergency services the Army provides to our local neighbors in need. Many Door County businesses support the efforts by having ringers at their doors.

Proceeds from bell ringing remain in Door County and are used throughout the year to assist with utility, rent, auto and other emergencies. Altrusa of Door County and The Salvation Army have a great partnership serving disadvantaged Door County children at the annual Back-to-School Fair. The Army provides a substantial portion of the new gym shoes for the children returning to school.

Bell ringing continues through Dec. 23 and many slots are still available. Interested volunteers may contact Nancy at [email protected] or 920.883.7886.
