Von Stiehl Earns Awards

Von Stiehl Winery in Algoma was awarded six silver medals and one gold medal in the annual USA Wine Ratings International competition. The competition rates wines from all over the world on a 100-point system based on quality, value and packaging. Von Stiehl’s 2019 Soaring Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon brought home the 90-point Gold Medal.

All wines submitted for the competition scored 85-points or higher, including Riesling, 2022 Albariño and current vintage of Cherry Bounce. Other wines submitted won silver medals included Chardonnay, Sierra Foothills Cabernet Sauvignon and Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
